Drywall Products
Drywall is a versatile building material used to construct or cover walls and ceilings. Also known as wallboard or by the brand name Sheetrock, it features a gypsum core with a smooth finish-side paper and coarse backing paper. Multiple specialized types are available for specific applications.
Types of Drywall

Standard Drywall​

Affordable and available in various sizes/thicknesses.

Most common type for residential use (bedrooms, living rooms, hallways).

Fire-Resistant Drywall

Slows flame spread with a gypsum core containing chemically bonded water (21%), which releases steam under heat.

Reinforced with glass fibres for added fire resistance.

Types:

Type X: minimum 1-hour fire rating; used in firewalls, stairwells, and shafts.

Type C: 2–4-hour fire rating; higher vermiculite/glass fibre content; ideal for ceilings.

Moisture- and Mould-Resistant Drywall

Treated paper or fibreglass mat backing resists moisture/mould (green board or purple board).

Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and high-humidity areas.
